The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
Included in President Obama’s stimulus bill were HVAC tax credit incentives that may help you afford a new energy-efficient comfort system. The bill provides up to $1500 in tax credits for the installation of qualified high-efficiency heating and cooling systems. Previous per-appliance caps limited homeowners to just $150 for a high efficiency furnace. But with the Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, per-appliance caps have been removed — allowing you to use the entire $1,500 tax credit on a single qualifying improvement!
